Job Summary

Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is a leading community health center providing comprehensive healthcare services to over 227,000 patients annually. Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound telephone calls to assist patients with information.
  • Direct callers to the appropriate areas in a timely manner.
  • Provide information requested and ensure the caller has all necessary details.
  • Accurately document outcomes from each call.
  • Input all related information into the computer system promptly.
  • Seek assistance and direction on unusual circumstances and issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Traveling between sites and other locations is occasionally required.
  • Valid California driver’s license, automobile, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law.
  • An acceptable driving record is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and/or medical front office procedures preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, be flexible, ensure accuracy, and meet changing priorities in a fast-paced, high workload environment.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people possessing different cultures, life experiences, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English required.
  • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer literacy (e.g., use computer system to manage and schedule appointments, access electronic medical record information, etc.).

Qualifications

  • 2 years customer service experience required.
  • Minimum 6 months experience working in a Call Center preferred.
