Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service to patients assisting with scheduling appointments, updating patient demographics and insurance information, verifying health plan eligibility, and taking messages to deliver to appropriate internal staff.
  • Works in a call center environment, registering new patients, scheduling appointments, transferring calls, documenting patient complaints, and handling other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required, general education degree preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) software, preferably EPIC.
  • Experience working in a clinic front office setting with customer service including dealing with the public.
  • Knowledge and experience working in a clinic front office setting with customer service including dealing with the public.
  • Excellent computer skills, preferably with Windows.
  • Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.
  • Proof of immunizations (Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella & Tetanus), tuberculosis clearance, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination status* prior to scheduled start date.

Qualifications

  • Bilingual Russian is highly preferred.
  • Experience working in a call center environment.
  • Healthcare terminology knowledge.
  • Understanding of health insurance including Medicare and Medi-cal.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to handle both inbound and outbound calls.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
