Patient Service Representative

Work Location: 21351 Ridgetop Circle, Sterling, VA 20166
Work Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

Join us in elevating your career! The Patient Service Representative is a critical role within Solis Mammography, impacting the profitability of the organization through outstanding patient care and efficient workflow management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for patients by greeting, gathering information, registering, and posting payments.
  • Register patients completely and accurately, including inputting demographic and insurance information into the RIS and verifying accuracy.
  • Explain forms to patients and assist with form completion, either via paper or tablet.
  • Process necessary paperwork, including scanning documents linked to the patient's medical record and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Collect patient payments, including explaining insurance benefits when necessary.
  • Prepare paperwork for future appointments, incorporating additional paperwork needed for specific exams or payors as necessary.
  • Schedule and reschedule patients as needed.
  • Generate daily invoice journal at the end of each day and reconcile payments using the Daily Reconciliation Report.
  • Participate in front office training to stay updated on policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Two years of healthcare registration or customer service experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of cash handling
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but sometimes complex written or oral instructions
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (knowledge of RIS software preferred)

Qualifications

  • High School diploma
