Responsibilities
- Greet patients as they arrive
- Answer phones and provide general reception
- Check-in patients and verify appointment and billing information
- Schedule appointments
- Collect co-pays and co-insurance
- New Patient Intake & Registration
- Review paperwork for completeness
- Input patient demographic information in computer system
- Review benefits with patient
- Review missed appointment policy with patient
- Set-up FOTO Intake Survey
- Check-out patients and schedule follow-up appointments per the clinician’s instructions
- Auxiliary work for Clinical staff with follow-up FOTO status surveys
- Auxiliary work for Central Billing Office (CBO) with Medical Records Request per Policy & Procedure
- Maintain POC’s for Certification
- Log discharged patients in computer system
- Scan documentation, prescriptions, protocols, flow sheets, HEP’s, and other information into the patient (electronic) medical records
- Maintain Active Patient statistics and scheduled appointments
- Log discharged patients in computer system
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of experience in customer service setting, preferably one year receptionist experience in a medical office
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Exceptional customer service skills required
- Experience working with an EMR/PM required
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Quick thinker with ability to pivot in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment is a must
