About the Role
RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our dynamic team. We challenge the status quo by illuminating radiology and ensuring it’s a pivotal step in diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Timely registration of patient arrivals, collecting out-of-pocket payments, and validating accurate demographic information.
- Inform patients about delays and wait times, and follow up to resolve inquiries or complaints.
- Answer and investigate patient inquiries or complaints, directing them to supervisors or managers as needed.
- Obtain and validate photo IDs and insurance cards, scanning documents into charts and categorizing them.
- Provide consent, financial, and HIPAA compliance-related documents, explaining them thoroughly if necessary.
- Utilize and apply EHR software, hardware, and programs for accuracy and efficiency.
- Scrutinize prescriptions and referrals for accuracy to ensure patients receive appropriate exams.
- Coordinate with interdepartmental professionals to enhance patient satisfaction regarding appointment scheduling and admissions.
- Dispense oral contrast and preparation instructions to patients scheduled for upcoming exams.
- Manage outgoing and incoming faxes through electronic and manual methods.
- Contact referring physician offices to verify information and requests that are pending.
- Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and maintain efficient patient flow.
- Maintain reception and patient waiting areas, ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and supplies.
- Participate in medical office emergencies, summoning ambulances or assisting staff as needed.
- Align with company mission and embody core values of RAYUS.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, operational objectives, and goals.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of PHI in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- One year of applicable customer service experience.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Proficient with computer systems and typing.
Qualifications
- Two years' customer service experience preferred.
- Experience using EMR/HER computer systems.
- Experience in Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging healthcare settings.
- Basic medical terminology knowledge.
- Insurance knowledge.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
