Patient Service Representative

About the role

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join its dynamic team. The role offers a unique opportunity to work in a forward-thinking environment that prioritizes radiology and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a positive patient experience.
• Timely registration of patient arrivals, collecting out-of-pocket payments, and informing patients about delays and wait times.
• Answering, investigating, and resolving patient inquiries or complaints, and coordinating with supervisors or managers.
• Validating and categorizing patient documents, obtaining and validating photo IDs and insurance cards, and explaining consent, financial, and HIPAA compliance documents.
• Utilizing and applying EHR software, hardware, and programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency in patient records.
• Verifying and dispensing oral contrast and preparation instructions, and coordinating with interdepartmental professionals for optimal patient satisfaction.
• Maintaining administrative office supplies, managing faxes, and contacting referring physician offices for pending information.
• Maintaining reception and patient waiting areas, ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, and availability of literature and beverages.
• Participating in medical office emergencies, summoning ambulances or assisting staff as needed.
• Ensuring alignment with company mission and core values, adhering to HIPAA regulations, and maintaining strict confidentiality of PHI.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• One year of applicable customer service experience
• Experience working in a healthcare setting
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Proficient with computer systems and typing
• Two years' customer service experience preferred
• Experience using EMR/HER computer systems
• Experience in a Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging healthcare setting
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Insurance knowledge
• Bilingual skills preferred
