Patient Service Representative

About the role

RAYUS Radiology is seeking a Float Patient Service Representative to join our dynamic team. We are dedicated to improving radiology services and enhancing patient experiences.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a positive patient service experience.
• Timely registration of patient arrivals, validating accurate demographic information and collecting out-of-pocket payments.
• Answering, investigating, and directing patient inquiries or complaints to supervisors or managers.
• Scanning relevant documents into patients' charts and categorizing them appropriately.
• Providing consent, financial, and HIPAA compliance-related documents, explaining them thoroughly if necessary.
• Proficiently utilizing and applying EHR software, hardware, and programs.
• Verifying and dispensing oral contrast and preparation instructions to patients.
• Participating in medical office emergencies, summoning ambulance or EMS as needed, and assisting other staff members.
• Maintaining administrative office supplies and ensuring patient waiting areas are clean and organized.
• Managing outgoing and incoming faxes through electronic and manual methods.
• Contacting referring physician offices to verify information and request necessary information.
• Organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and maintain efficient patient flow.
• Using proper phone and written etiquette when handling correspondence.
• Aligning with company mission and embodying core values.
• Adhering to company policies, procedures, operational objectives, and goals.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality of PHI in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of applicable customer service experience.
• Experience working in a healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Proficient with using computer systems and typing.
• Two years’ customer service experience preferred.
• Experience using electronic medical record/health record (EMR/HER) computer systems.
• Experience working in a Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Insurance knowledge.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Pay

The starting pay is $18.00 per hour with the possibility of higher rates based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. Shifts are Monday-Friday between 5:00am-12:00pm. DailyPay implementation is contingent upon initial set-up period.
