Patient Service Representative

About the role

Forefront Dermatology is hiring a full‑time Patient Service Representative for its Bremerton, WA clinic. The role involves patient check‑in, updating personal and insurance information, managing a multi‑line phone system, maintaining medical records, and collecting co‑pays and cash payments. The schedule is Monday‑Thursday 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM with PRN Fridays on advance notice.

Responsibilities

• Performs opening and closing clinic duties
• Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance
• Scans documents into electronic health record
• Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day
• Checks schedules for added, canceled and no‑show appointments throughout the day
• Schedules follow up appointments as needed
• Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record
• Orders clinic office supplies
• Sells and tracks cosmetic products
• Distributes mail
• Prepares for next day scheduled appointments

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• 1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred
• Proficient in basic computer functions
• Ability to learn new software quickly
• Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills
• Ability to operate standard office equipment
• Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred
• Attention to detail
• Ability to multi‑task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
• Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors
• Professional appearance and manner at all times
• Friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor; compassionate and caring in dealing with others
• Maintain confidentiality of information

Pay

For this position, the base pay range is $22.00 – $25.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training.

Schedule

Monday – Thursday schedule 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Friday’s PRN with advanced notice given.
