POSITION SUMMARY

The Patient Service Representative provides direct patient-facing services. The primary focus is on direct patient interactions and excellent customer service. Team members are expected to uphold the health center's mission by assuring that patients receive health care that is competent, caring, and meets a high degree of satisfaction. In addition, staff must support FPCSN's commitment to the creation of a trauma-informed system of care that continually recognizes and responds to the impact of traumatic stress on all those who have contact with the organization, including children, adults, families, caregivers, and staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and check in patients
  • Answer phones and route calls
  • Schedule appointments
  • Verify insurance and collect payments
  • Work within the Phreesia Hub to process patient requests

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates should possess a diverse range of skills and experience, including but not limited to:
  • Required Education and Experience: High School Diploma/GED
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Experience working within a healthcare office is preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance payors and patient eligibility verification preferred
  • Knowledge of insurance carriers (MCO/Medicare/Medicaid) preferred
  • Other Qualifications: Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills
  • Effective Communication, Interpersonal, and Conflict-Resolution Skills
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity to the diverse needs of patients
  • Exemplary organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Attention to Detail, Critical thinking, and Multi-tasking Skills
  • Ability to navigate and utilize electronic health records (EHR) efficiently
  • Computer Competency with Microsoft Office Suites and other FPCSN systems
  • Highly responsible, reliable, and courteous
  • Unconditional ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Lifting Requirements: LIGHT – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The use of arm and/or leg control requires force greater than sedentary, but the worker still sits the majority of the time.
