Position Overview
The Patient Service Representative greets all patients and visitors, schedules, reschedules, and cancels appointments, and assists with various clerical tasks.
Essential Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors to the office and direct questions to appropriate staff members.
- Checks patients in and out for their scheduled visit while adhering to the 5-Star standard of patient care.
- Schedules, reschedules, and cancels patient appointments in alignment with provider schedules and availability.
- Supports patient calls, places reminder calls, confirms appointments, and sets up patient portal.
- Aids in patient paperwork completion, verifies insurance coverage, and collects co-pays.
- Verifies and updates patient information, documents communications, and maintains medical records.
- Maintains office supplies inventory and assists with supply orders.
- Assists ill or distraught patients in crisis and participates in the medical office emergency routine.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of customer service experience required.
- One year of medical front desk receptionist experience or administrative experience preferred.
