About the role
Family Care Center is on a mission to transform lives by elevating behavioral health care. Founded in 2016 by two U.S. Army Veterans, we serve people of all ages across a broad range of conditions with nearly 30 outpatient clinics in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee and Texas. We are looking for a Patient Service Representative to greet patients, manage intake, and handle clerical and organizational tasks such as file organizing, scheduling appointments, and assisting staff as needed.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes patients and visitors to the office and directs questions to appropriate staff members.
- Checks patients in and out for their scheduled visit while adhering to our 5-Star standard of patient care.
- Schedules, reschedules and cancels patient appointments in alignment with provider schedules and availability.
- Receives and supports patient calls. Places reminder calls and confirms appointments for intake patients. Assists with patient portal set up.
- Ensures patient paperwork is completed before time of appointment.
- Verifies insurance coverage and ensures patient is eligible to receive services.
- Obtains patient information by requesting completed applications, medical information and insurances; verifying and clarifying information; informing and explaining patient and family members of services.
- Collects co-pays and other payments from patients. Reconciles cash/check payment receipts generated from the EHR with cash on hand at the end of each shift.
- Verifies demographic and insurance information is correct and acquires any other information necessary for the appointment.
- Retrieves required patient forms and assessments, sequences paperwork, adds new patient record forms, and uploads into patient chart.
- Completes clear and concise documentation in E.H.R. when communicating with patients.
- Monitors and responds to patient voicemails and portal messages through E.H.R. system. Relays message to provider or appropriate party as needed.
- Helps maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records within patient charts.
- Inventory office supplies to assist the Clinic Administrator with supply orders.
- Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Assists ill or distraught patients in crisis, as necessary. Participates in the medical office emergency routine when required. Calls EMS or assists other staff members as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of customer service experience required.
- One year of medical front desk receptionist experience or administrative experience preferred.

Pay
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour, plus bonus potential up to $4,000 annually.
Schedule
No weekend or evening hours.
