About the role
The Patient Services Representative coordinates and facilitates a variety of functions in support of Student Health, Counseling & Wellness (SHCWS) Services mission, values, and goals. They function with a moderate degree of independence and exercise discretion, judgment, and confidentiality in a clinical office environment. They provide first point-of-contact for clients/patients, customers, and visitors, gather pertinent patient data to facilitate service, and provide efficient and accurate customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide reception and clerical duties in an office environment.
- Provide exceptional customer service skills.
- Exercise effective interpersonal skills.
- Respond to routine and non-routine inquiries with independent judgment and discretion.
- Communicate information clearly and accurately.
- Operate standard office equipment and use standard office software packages.
- Prioritize work assignments and maintain confidentiality.
- Perform standard clerical procedures and practices.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary staff.
- Obtain BLS CPR and complete FamilyPACT training upon hire.
Requirements
- Entry to this classification requires fundamental written and oral communication skills, understanding of standard office procedures, ability to operate standard office equipment, ability to learn office technology systems, ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, and typing and keyboard skills.

Qualifications
- Completion of a high school program or its equivalent and some experience in an office environment.
- Two years’ experience providing direct customer service.
- Experience working in a medical office and/or counseling center.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Records.
- Familiarity with HIPAA documents.
Skills

Pay
Salary range: $3,565 per month (Step 1) - $5,092 per month (Step 19)
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
