California Protons Cancer Therapy Center provides state-of-the-art cancer treatments to patients with varying diagnoses who travel here from all over the world. From our world-renowned Radiation Oncologists, highly trained Registered Nurses, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, and Radiation Therapists, and everyone in-between, our team of professionals works collaboratively to bring hope and healing to even the most aggressive cancer cases.

The Patient Services Representative (PSR) interacts with patients, families, staff, visitors and physicians with the objective of enhancing the experience for those visiting California Protons. The PSR reports to the Business Operations Supervisor and is classified as Non-Exempt.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all patients and guests in a professional, caring manner in-person or over the phone.
  • Accurate registration of patients by gathering information and entering all relevant data in the system.
  • Verify demographics and update any necessary information in-person or over the phone.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments with patients over the phone.
  • Ensure appropriate forms are filled out correctly and provide assistance as needed.
  • Keep track of patients in the lobby to ensure patients do not leave when they have multiple appointments.
  • Work well with nursing, imaging techs, radiation therapists, and physicians in-person or over the phone.
  • Multi-task by scanning forms, scheduling appointments, and answering phone calls.
  • Schedule follow-ups and diagnostic imaging appointments (CT/MRI/PET) over the phone.
  • Receive calls, respond to and route messages and inquiries appropriately.
  • May assist in gathering necessary reports, statistics, and outcomes for the department as needed.
  • Work with a team to complete all tasks and upload CDs into MIM.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a front office and/or business medical office position.
  • Radiation Oncology experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, patient expectations, and escalate issues to appropriate management.
  • Ability to juggle multiple requests and manage working with all departments and differing expectations of staff, physicians, and patients.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.

Skills

  • Proficiency in computer applications, MS Office, and internet research.
  • Strong organizational skills; innovative, intuitive with the ability to identify and solve problems.
  • The ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality at all times.
  • Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, and establish facts.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, often with the ability to de-escalate issues.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • 3-5 Years of Customer Service experience and skills.
  • Strong Healthcare, call center, patient advocacy experience.

Pay

Salary Range: $24.00-27.00/hour DOE
