Patient Service Rep - Preauthorization Team
About the role
The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in supporting Hawaii Pacific Health's mission to provide high-quality, compassionate care. This position acts as a liaison between patients and the professional staff in the Contact Center, assisting with administrative tasks such as registration, admission, and fee processing.
Responsibilities
- Interview, register, admit, update, and create patients' medical records
- Accurately and timely process professional and technical fees generated by department providers
- Perform cash handling and collection
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of clerical support in a healthcare setting or related experience
- Basic computer skills
Qualifications
- Sensitive and helpful individual with excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision
- Commitment to delivering high-quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people
Skills
- Basic medical terminology
- International Classification of Diseases and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) Coding Certification (preferred)
- Experience with EPIC (preferred)
