About the role

Our OB/GYN practice is hiring a Patient Service Representative (PSR) in Bridgewater, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, assist, and direct them to the appropriate waiting area.
• Page or phone appropriate personnel to meet and escort patients to the exam room.
• Explain financial requirements to patients, collect, and record copayments as required.
• Perform registration functions for new and existing patients and activate patient files.
• Promptly and professionally answer and route calls to appropriate personnel, page, offer voicemail, or redirect calls as needed.
• Retrieve and appropriately route any messages from the answering service.
• Provide additional support to patients and medical staff and perform other duties as assigned.
• Courteously screen solicitors for relevance to organizational needs.
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines as well as maintain confidentiality regarding all patients and follow confidentiality policies per HIPAA compliance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Medical Receptionist/PSR experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
• Ability to maintain composure and navigate a fast-paced, innovative environment.
• Team player.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week including some evening hours.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and provide coverage at satellite location(s), where applicable, as needed.

Schedule

9 AM–5 PM and 1 alternating night (12 PM–7:30 PM) on a Monday or Wednesday.

Pay

$18 USD to $21 USD per hour. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
