Job Responsibilities
- Complete requirements in checking patients in and out of the medical office.
- Aid with patient scheduling, making appointments, and referrals for testing and specialists.
- Greet patients in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Accurately document patient phone messages.
- Obtain and update necessary registration documents, including demographic and insurance information.
- Update and maintain patient's electronic medical record as required to meet compliance.
- Communicate necessary information and ensure patient files or records are kept timely.
- Secure and scan patient medical records into charts.
- Assume responsibility for managing patients' electronic medical records.
- Collect co-payments and post outstanding balances.
- Receive and prepare bank deposits, balance and batch electronic credit card transactions, and verify deposit totals with supervisor.
- Prepare financial documents and maintain and reconcile cash drawer.
- Maintain and organize office supplies, and communicate needs to management.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable hospital and department policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Notify management of changes in workload to maximize productivity.
- Solve and follow up on challenging occurrences or situations.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards patients, physicians, co-workers, management, and other hospital staff.
- Contribute to team building and maintain a team-oriented environment.
Requirements
- Previous Customer Service experience.
- One or more years of office administrative experience and customer service.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized training in office administrative skills such as computers, software, and data entry preferred.
