Patient Service Coordinator Sr
About the role
This full-time position supports the Revenue Cycle Department at the 5206 Research Drive clinic in San Antonio, Texas. The typical work week is Monday through Friday, eight hours between 7:00a – 6:00p.

This position can be either a level 1, 2 or Sr based on relevant work experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and professional manner; check in patients and inform clinical staff of patient arrival.
- Provide and explain paperwork for patients to complete prior to examination; collect, proof for completeness, and file patient forms.
- Update demographics and insurance information in the system; collect co-pays and balances; provide receipts.
- Answer, screen, and respond to routine questions, route to appropriate personnel, or take thorough messages; page clinic personnel as appropriate; communicate messages accurately and timely.
- Check patients out after examination; schedule returning appointments in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines; provide patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, instruction sheets, and other details.
- Record patient cancellations and missed appointments; reschedule appointments; notify appropriate staff of cancellations and make notes in patient charts.
- Provide general administrative support by filing charts and forms; maintain lobby area in a neat and orderly manner; maintain a legible supply of forms and appropriate office supplies.
- Adhere to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient records.
- May type memos and forms; other duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Level 1
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Some receptionist or office experience preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) required.
- Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.
Level 2 (includes Level 1 requirements)
- At least eighteen (18) months front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required.
- Knowledge of this practice's personnel, daily routines, and scheduling a plus.
Level Sr (includes Level 1 and 2 requirements)
- At least 5 years front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required.
Physical demands
- Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
- Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.
