Work Shifts

8:00 A.M – 4:00 P.M; Rotating Weekends. *[35 Hours per Week.]*

Duties & Responsibilities

• Purpose of Position: Supports and promotes patient safety initiatives and efforts across the health care setting by conducting data analyses; reviews and coordinates patient safety programs.
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive patient safety program; assists in the coordination of patient safety activities across the health care setting; promotes and fosters a culture of safety within the organization.
• Captures and analyzes patient safety data; informs leadership of data findings.
• Conducts patient safety walk rounds; manages the Patient Safety Hotline and online event portal; analyzes event data, summarizes trends and provides information to appropriate staff.
• Prepares reports for various committees; provides recommendations for quality and risk management strategies and assists in developing action plans.
• Serves as a liaison and resource to leadership and staff on patient safety matters.
• Conducts literature reviews and communicates patient safety strategies.
• Participates in QA/PI activities, training, and relevant health care events.
• Trains staff on Patient Safety as needed; identifies and assists in developing employee education programs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public, Healthcare or Hospital Administration or a related discipline and two (2) years of clinical experience in coordinating and monitoring initiatives, activities, and programs related to patient safety and/or quality improvement or performing other functions directly related to patient safety in a hospital or health care setting.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed above and three (3) years of experience, as described above.
• A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education, and/or experience.
