12 Hour Night Shift
Responsibilities
- Maintains visual observation and verbally redirects patient in person or over digital 2-way audio device that is in patient room.
- Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the appropriate care to patient population based on the patients individualized treatment plan as delegated by the RN.
- Collects verbal report, updated/accurate information form and observation record from licensed nurse before assuming observation care of the patient.
- Ensures Safety Attendant Information Sheet is completed and appropriate for each assignment.
- Documents every 15-30 minutes, as appropriate, on Observation Flow Sheet.
- Participates in hand-off of pertinent information/behavior about assigned patients when arriving on unit and upon completion of shift assignment.
- Informs nurse prior to leaving monitoring station for any reason so that relief may be provided to ensure constant patient observation.

Education
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Previous work in a hospital or a college student in medical discipline helpful.
- Proof of completion of Dependent Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Previous work in a hospital or a college student in medical discipline helpful.
