12 Hour Night Shift

Responsibilities

• Maintains visual observation and verbally redirects patient in person or over digital 2-way audio device that is in patient room.
• Immediately summons the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the appropriate care to patient population based on the patients individualized treatment plan as delegated by the RN.
• Collects verbal report, updated/accurate information form and observation record from licensed nurse before assuming observation care of the patient.
• Ensures Safety Attendant Information Sheet is completed and appropriate for each assignment.
• Documents every 15-30 minutes, as appropriate, on Observation Flow Sheet.
• Participates in hand-off of pertinent information/behavior about assigned patients when arriving on unit and upon completion of shift assignment.
• Informs nurse prior to leaving monitoring station for any reason so that relief may be provided to ensure constant patient observation.

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Previous work in a hospital or a college student in medical discipline helpful.
• Proof of completion of Dependent Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Previous work in a hospital or a college student in medical discipline helpful.
