Patient Safety Attendant - FT Days (7am-3:30pm)

Responsibilities

• Helps maintain a safe environment for the patient.
• Contact the nurse if you need to leave the patient's bedside.
• Completes Close Observation Record or Intensive Observation Record.
• Keeps bed rails in the directed position and bed in lowest position.
• Removes sharp objects from the patient's reach.
• Prevents patients from removing tubes, IVs, drains, dressings, etc.
• Informs the nurse if a patient loosens a restraint or disrupts a tube or dressing.
• Reports unusual behavior and comments to the nurse.
• Aids in hygiene, toileting, etc. under registered nurse supervision.
• Reports any inappropriate visitor or family behavior to the nurse.
• Identifies and addresses the patient's specific needs.
• Communicates with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver at their level.
• Adheres to organizational competencies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent programs.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
