Patient Representative - Oncology

About the role

The Patient Representative in Medical Oncology supports the needs of cancer patients at the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute. This position works in a medical office setting and is responsible for a variety of administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling appointments
  • Calling pharmacies to verify prescriptions
  • Billing patients and verifying precertification
  • Triage phone calls from patients, physicians, and insurance companies
  • Maintain patient and business confidentiality
  • Other duties as assigned to meet department needs

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college preferred
  • A minimum of three (3) or more years of medical administrative experience

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
  • Strong customer service orientation

Pay

Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, flexible schedule to accommodate patient needs.
