The role
The PRN Patient Registrar position at MUSC/Florence, SC offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to travel within the Pee Dee division.
Responsibilities
- Gather patient information for inpatients, outpatients, and all other posts of registration.
- Conduct patient interviews, provide financial counseling, and verify insurance.
- Explain hospital policies regarding visitation, payment, and available services.
- Handle routine inquiries and resolve problems related to the registration process.
- Maintain good public relations by exercising discretion in handling patient interactions.
- Meet and exceed customer service expectations related to the registration process.
- Evaluate performance results in a 95% to 98% success rate to meet expectations and 100% or greater to exceed.
Requirements
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment
- Ability to follow directions and perform work according to department standards
Qualifications
- Strong flexibility with schedule
- Willingness to travel within the Pee Dee division
Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities
- Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures
