Patient Financial Specialist - Home Health - Per Diem

Responsibilities

• Analyzes Home Health & Hospice medical records to ensure supporting billing documentation is in place, certification periods are met and clinical documentation is within industry guidelines and Medicare requirements.
• Reviews documentation and applies appropriate codes for billing.
• Obtains insurance verification and prior authorizations.
• Monitors and works daily billing errors and A/R.
• Participates in the creation and implementation of standard work for daily, weekly and monthly document verification and chart audits.
• Provides patient scheduling for field clinicians.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• One year of patient account billing experience.
• Prior experience in medical billing with commercial insurance and Medicare/Medicaid.
• Previous experience in a medical records environment.
• Previous medical office experience with exposure to medical records, scheduling, high volume phone systems and medical transcription.
• Experience in home health and hospice coding and billing.
• Certified Coder.
• Bilingual: English/Spanish.

Additional Information

Wage: Wage range currently starts at $22.07/hour and goes up to $33.44/hour. Actual wage will be based on years' of applicable experience. This position may also qualify for an additional 15% premium in lieu of benefits.

FTE: Per Diem
