Patient Escort I (HM JR92904) - PT with Benefits - 20 Hrs. Weekly/40 Hrs. Biweekly - 10:30pm - 7am Shift - Every Other Weekend and Holiday (Patient Escort Services/Newark)

Location: Christiana Hospital – Newark Campus

Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM – 20 hours weekly (every other weekend and holiday)

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients via stretcher, wheelchair, bed, or specialized vehicle to and from various hospital departments.
• Assist clinical staff with patient transfers.
• Maintain and care for transport equipment.
• Attend training sessions and departmental meetings.
• Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma preferred.
• 2 years of customer service experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Must be able to obtain BLS certification upon hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Basic computer and smartphone proficiency.
• Knowledge of hospital layout and body mechanics.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing, walking, pushing/pulling heavy equipment.
• Occasional bending, crouching, lifting.
• Exposure to cleaning agents, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.

Pay

Starting rate: $17.32 per hour. After six months of continuous employment, the rate increases to $20.34 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the rate increases to $21.34 per hour.
