About the role

Patient Services Leads coordinate patient meal service and special requests for the Patient Dining Program. They ensure Patient Dining Associates are adequately trained and units are properly staffed to provide service. Patient Services Leads play a key role in creating a culture of comfort and compassion in the healthcare environment, addressing patients’ special requests and nutritional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee systems and processes to ensure the strategic and operational objectives of the Patient Dining Program are met.
  • Supervise Patient Dining Associates, including helping patients make menu selections, assemble, deliver, and pick up meal trays.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences, or additional selection inquiries.
  • Interact with nursing staff to evaluate daily patient meal selection, tray completion, delivery, and retrieval processes.
  • Respond to patients' needs promptly, communicating any concerns to appropriate personnel following department procedures.
  • Assist dietitians in monitoring patients on restricted diets, such as liquid diets or specific calorie counts.
  • Adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies as outlined in HIPAA regulations.
  • Comply with regulatory standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO, as well as Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food safety.
  • Follow health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
  • Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies.
  • Conduct daily team meetings using Morrison’s branded GR8 Start Meeting guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous food service and patient service experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and read documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and operation instructions.
  • Proficiency in operating hospital admission, discharge, and transfer (ADT) systems and other computer-based patient care record systems.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver/push food delivery carts. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Pay

Fixed pay rate: $24.00 per hour

Schedule

Full-time schedule. Monday through Friday, hours may vary. More details provided upon interview.
