PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) (FULL TIME AND PART TIME)

About the Role

We are hiring immediately for full-time and part-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) positions at Slidell Memorial Hospital, located at 1001 Gause Boulevard, Slidell, LA 70458. Schedules include Monday through Friday with varying hours and rotating weekends. More details will be provided during the interview.

Responsibilities

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural/ethnic/religious preferences, or additional selection inquiries.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals accurately and timely; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO guidelines, as well as HIPAA policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines for food handling, workstation cleaning, and tray line breakdown.
• Adhere to facility and department infection control policies.
• Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on special diets (e.g., liquid diets, calorie counts).
• Communicate patient concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
• Complete required daily, weekly, or monthly reports.
• Comply with health, sanitation, and department procedures.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience required.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver/push food delivery carts.

Pay

Fixed Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
