Patient Coordinator (West End Offices)

Description

Virginia Physicians for Women is looking for a new member to join the practice with the ability to float at any time between their West End locations (this includes Henrico Doctors, St. Mary's and West Creek offices). They are seeking someone who possesses excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.

Requirements

• Essential Functions:

  • Complete all functions of patient admission and check out
  • Understand and communicate the financial policies of VPFW
  • Explaining payment plan arrangements with patients
  • Collecting copayments and balances
  • Managing and resolving patient payment concerns or questions
  • Collecting and coordinating patient insurance policies
  • Scheduling appointments to accommodate physicians across multiple offices
  • Providing front desk coverage across any West End office location as needed by request of supervisor/upper management

• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to establish and maintain long-term patient relationships
  • Demonstrate good judgment in handling situations not covered by written or verbal instruction and seek guidance as needed
  • Perform work within appropriate time frame, accurately and in a timely manner in periods of increased work load and high stress
  • Ability to solve patient problems, treat patients with dignity and respect and respond quickly to patient needs

• Education and Experience:

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Prior medical office experience preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent
