Patient Coordinator PT 1pm-6pm

Through direct ownership and joint ventures, the company operates a mixed network of independent and hospital-affiliated radiology centers that perform diagnostic tests used to help identify, diagnose, and monitor a range of health conditions.

Schedule

Part-Time: Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Locations

• Primary: 1975-H Magwood Road, Charleston, SC 29414
• Secondary (as needed): 2851 Tricom Street, North Charleston, SC 29406

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial point of contact with patients, referring physicians, and the general public on the imaging center’s behalf
• Welcome all patients and their family members into the imaging center, ensuring they feel comfortable
• Anticipate and attend to the needs of patients and visitors
• Check patients in and schedule appointments
• Answer and route incoming telephone calls to the appropriate party
• Collect balances from patients’ financial responsibility at time of service
• Perform other front office/desk duties as necessary

Requirements

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Prior Experience

0 - 2+ years of experience working in a customer support role or hospitality field

Special Qualifications

• Strong customer service background and focus
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge and ability to perform accurately and efficiently on a computer
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Experience working in a physician practice or other type of medical services office
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Prior patient collections experience in a medical setting
• Medical records experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
