Responsibilities
- Provides exceptional customer service during all aspects of a patient visit to Community Clinic
- Safeguards patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) accurately and updates it regularly for all patients
- Collects and posts patient payments correctly to accounts, ensuring daily collections are balanced
- Collaborates with Patient Financial Services on necessary patient information, payments, and insurance inquiries
- Schedules patient appointments according to patient needs, provider requests, and approved scheduling guidelines
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment to reflect the professional appearance of the Clinic
- Keeps management team informed of all activities and ongoing issues within the medical clinic
- Adheres to relevant regulatory guidelines and laws, including HIPAA/HITECH, HRSA, NCQA PCMH, and OSHA
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people of all backgrounds
- Ability to perform cash, check, and credit card transactions with accuracy
- Knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office
- Ability to train, guide, and monitor staff, assist with scheduling, and cover shifts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interactions with patients, families, and medical staff
Qualifications
- 1 year medical front office experience preferred
- 1 year customer service experience preferred
- Bilingual (English/Marshallese or Spanish) ability preferred
- Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record system (especially eCW) preferred
