Responsibilities
- Greet patients and families.
- Answer center telephones, distribute faxes, and prepare customer files.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Receive and correctly record receipts of patient payments.
- Enter, verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
- Process requests for records from outside sources.
- Scan data into document imaging software.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
- Perform any other functions as required by management.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary.
- Experience working in a busy, fast-paced medical office setting, highly preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience, preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.
- One year of medical office experience, preferred.
- Experience accessing and updating an EMR system, preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete standard tasks.
- Works on routine assignments that require basic problem resolution.
- Refers to policies and past practices for guidance.
- Receives general direction on standard work; receives detailed instruction on new assignments.
- Consults with supervisor or senior peers on complex and unusual problems.
