About the role
Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Medical Telemetry Unit. Hours/Shift: Part-time, 24-hours per week, nights shift.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care, support the admissions and discharge process, and comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional nurse.
- Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the nursing.
Requirements
- HS - High School Grad or Equivalent
- One of the following programs is acceptable for education: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic, or current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT)
- One year of health care experience preferred.
Qualifications
- AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Skills
- Unlicensed staff member accountable to, and works under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care.
