Patient Care Technician - PCT CCHT - Dialysis

Overview

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support and collaborate with Registered Nurses (RNs) in providing dialysis treatment to multiple patients at a time. This role is a float position across all clinics in Nebraska and requires a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) certification.

Job Description

• Assist in the setup and operation of hemodialysis machines.
• Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform vascular access cannulation.
• Obtain and review pre and post-treatment vital signs and weight.
• Initiate and monitor dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders.
• Document patient responses and evaluate vascular access during treatment.
• Prepare and organize supplies to prevent wastage.
• Support staff training on appropriate programs.
• Participate in infection control practices and reinforce education to patients and families.
• Assist in transitioning patients to their chosen modality and coordinate supply ordering.
