Responsibilities
- Assists patients with activities of daily living.
- Answers patients call lights.
- Assists with simple procedures as defined in work area under the direction of the RN.
- Takes/monitors and records vital signs, weights, and intake and output.
- Transports patients, equipment, supplies, and specimens.
- Limits all specimens in accordance with standards.
- Aids in maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment.
- Uses technology to promptly and accurately document care provided.
- Utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area.
- Demonstrates ability to consistently meet the department work schedule.
- Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service.
- Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient care.
- Reports in a timely manner, pertinent patient observations, significant incidents, or any changes in patient’s condition to the appropriate person.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities, objective and open to other’s views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to positive team goals, and puts the success of the team above own interest.
- Demonstrates effective communication with all members of the healthcare team.
- Follows established, individualized plan of care and teaching plans based on identified patient needs, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of high school or equivalent. Minimum of 75-hour nurse aide course. Validation Code of “Eligible” status by the Director Care Worker Registry.
- Basic computer/typing skills.
- Mandatory Reporter certification or obtain certification within three months from date of hire.
- Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
