About the role
The Patient Care Technician position at Summit Pacific Medical Center is responsible for providing routine patient care, participating in the health care team, and adhering to the hospital's behavior and service standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient care activities within the scope of the NA-C license, as delegated by the Registered Nurse.
- Effectively perform a variety of technical skills to support timely and efficient patient care.
- Greet and escort patients, assist with transportation, inventory and document personal belongings, and assist with personal care activities.
- Implement measures to relieve pain and promote rest/sleep, such as back rubs, face and hair care, and personal hygiene.
- Document relevant patient care data, transcribe physician orders, schedule procedures, and operate computers and other office equipment.
- Respond to “Code” calls, relieve co-workers for breaks/lunches, and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Maintain unit and patient room supplies, and perform duties as a tele sitter.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Washington State Approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
- One to two years of work experience in a patient care setting, acute care preferred.
- Telemetry experience preferred.
Skills
- Working knowledge of current patient care practices within the nursing assistant scope.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to act in accordance with Summit Pacific Behavior Standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of current technology, including Microsoft Office products.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize assigned work.
