Job Description The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in supporting physicians and nursing staff by ensuring that patients’ basic clinical and personal care needs are met. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the PCT provides direct patient care, assists with clinical procedures, and observes and reports changes in patient condition to promote safe, effective, and compassionate care. Principal Accountabilities Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, feeding, grooming, toileting, and dressingObtain and accurately record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height, and weightAssist patients with mobility and physical activities, including ambulation, transfers, range of motion (ROM), and dischargesPerform post‑mortem care according to established protocolsConduct clinical support tasks such as:EKGsPhlebotomyBlood glucose monitoringObserve patients for changes in physical condition, behavior, or mental status and promptly report concerns to the RNMaintain, clean, and stock phlebotomy equipment and suppliesSupport patient safety, comfort, and dignity at all timesPerform other related duties as assigned to support unit operations Required QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GEDCurrent CPR/BLS certificationAbility to perform basic clinical skills such as vital signs, patient transfers, and ADLsStrong communication, interpersonal, and observational skillsAbility to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary care teamPhysical ability to assist with patient mobility and stand/walk for extended periods Preferred Previous experience in an acute care or hospital settingExperience with phlebotomy, EKGs, and glucose monitoringCNA certification or equivalent Interest in pursuing a long‑term career in healthcare or nursing About Us At Atlantic Health, our promise to our communities is; Anyone who enters one of our facilities will receive the highest quality care delivered at the right time, at the right place, and at the right cost.
