Patient Care Technician - FT Night
Under general supervision by the RN, the dual role Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary provides nursing staff with clerical support to assist in facilitating patient care and is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified area. The Patient Care Tech/Secretary is responsible for collecting and reporting information to the supervising RN and completion of all patient care related documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provide clerical support to nursing staff to facilitate patient care.
- Provide basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients.
- Collect and report information to the supervising RN.
- Complete all patient care related documentation.
- Perform basic data entry tasks.
Requirements
- Coursework/Training (for hires after 10/31/16):
- Completion of a CNA program, OR
- Completion of first semester nursing program, OR
- EMT program completion.
- Upon hire:
- California Nursing Assistant Certification License, OR
- California Emergency Medical Technician License.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (upon hire).
- Experience with basic data entry.
Qualifications
- Preferred Coursework/Training:
- Satisfactory completion of a medical terminology course, or knowledge of medical terminology.
- Preferred Experience:
- 1 year of acute patient care experience, OR
- 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment providing clerical or patient support related to Provider, patient documentation, or charting.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.78 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
