About the role

The Patient Care Tech position at Evanston Hospital offers a range of full-time and part-time opportunities, with hours ranging from 24 to 40 per week. The position is available in various departments including Cardiac/Stroke, Neurology/Urology, Oncology, Surgical Stepdown, Med/Surg/Overflow.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care
  • Absorb vital signs (including manual blood pressure)
  • Perform 12-Lead EKGs, bladder ultrasounds, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, bed-making, ambulation, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose monitoring, feeding, admitting patients to rooms, preparing for discharge, and other tasks as directed by the Registered Nurse
  • Implement a patient-specific care plan
  • Engage in other activities essential to the unit's function
  • Contribute positively to safety outcomes and enhance patient experience

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the U.S. and have completed an accredited CNA training course, or completed at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical settings
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by the American Heart Association required
  • One year of customer service experience preferred, and/or prior nursing assistant experience

Qualifications

  • Education: Completion of an accredited CNA training course preferred, or completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical settings
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider issued by the American Heart Association required

Pay

The hourly pay range is $18.84 - $27.32, determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, 3:00 pm- 11:30 pm, 11:00 pm - 7:30 am, rotating weekends.
