About the role
The Surgical Oncology unit cares for a variety of surgical oncology specialties, such as complex Upper and Lower GI, GYNOncology and Head and Neck. This unit also serves as an acute medical/surgical unit which includes 12 Intermediate Level Care beds.
The nursing staff have worked to create a work environment which values excellence, team work and peer support. Nursing staff work collaboratively with leadership in a shared governance model. R4 is a very goal-driven unit and they encourage staff to pursue professional goals.
Responsibilities
- Takes vital signs and assists patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living.
- Performs a variety of direct and indirect care duties under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Requirements
- Current applicable state(s) license as a Certified Nursing Assistant required.
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
- CNA experience 0-6 months.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
