About the role
The Emergency Department at Hartford Hospital is actively hiring Patient Care Technicians (PCT, PCA, CNA) to support patient care activities in a high-acuity environment.
Responsibilities
- Movement of patients throughout the department
- Completion of point of care testing (EKGs, fingersticks, pregnancy/urine tests)
- Continuous observation of high-risk patients
- Aiding patients with activities of daily living
- Performing CPR
- Proactive hourly rounding on patients
- Obtaining vital signs
- Documenting within the electronic medical record
Requirements
- No experience required; training on-site provided
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certifications such as CNA, CPCT/A, EMT or CMA are eligible for advancement in the PCT clinical career ladder
- Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date
Qualifications
