Patient Care Technician

Role Overview

This position supports patient care at an academic medical center, assisting registered nurses with clinical duties, patient transportation, and maintaining a safe environment. The role involves using electronic health records to document care and ensuring smooth operations within the healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist RNs in delivering patient care activities
• Transport patients and medical materials as needed
• Utilize electronic health records system for documentation and administrative tasks
• Maintain a safe, organized, and well-equipped environment

Qualifications & Skills

• Prior clinical training (e.g., CMA, CNA, PCT, EMT, medical student) with successful certification
• Current BLS certification
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts including evening, night, and weekend shifts
