About the Role
As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at LVHN, you will support the interprofessional team, providing direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of licensed clinical team members. You will also assist with telehealth encounters and maintain a safe patient care environment.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with and support the interprofessional team, patient, family, and designated care partners.
- Perform validated and designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under the direction of licensed clinical team members.
- Actively promote and maintain a safe patient care environment.
- Provide assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment to ensure efficient unit operations.
- Conduct patient rounds as assigned, anticipate patient needs, and answer/respond to patient call lights or pages promptly.
- Facilitate, under the direction of the distant provider, a clinical exam including the utilization of peripheral devices, technology, and software ensuring a comprehensive virtual care encounter is conducted.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care needs, and role in interprofessional team
- Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role
- Knowledge of personal care and hygiene necessary for quality of life
- Knowledge of risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment
- Knowledge of how to convey respect and collaborate with each patient, family, and/or designated care partner
- Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques
- Physical Demands: Lift and carry 40-50 lbs., frequent to continuous standing/walking, patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift.

- LVHN colleagues must successfully complete LVHN's inexperienced technical partner course.
