Patient Care Technician

About the role

A Patient Care Technician (PCT) supports patients with end-stage renal disease in an outpatient dialysis clinic. The primary responsibilities include delivering safe, hygienic, and compassionate dialysis care, monitoring patients before, during, and after treatment, setting up and maintaining dialysis equipment, recording vital signs and patient data, and educating patients on treatment and kidney health. Collaboration with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other care team members is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, hygienic, and compassionate dialysis care
• Maintain a sterile environment and follow infection control protocols
• Monitor patients before, during, and after treatment
• Set up and maintain dialysis equipment
• Record vital signs and patient data accurately
• Educate patients on treatment and kidney health
• Collaborate with nurses, dietitians, social workers, and other care team members

Requirements

• Accredited High School diploma, GED credential, or equivalent
• Comfortable around blood, needles, and medical equipment
• Physically able to work long shifts on your feet
• Willing to float between local clinics if needed
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Preferred: CNA, MA, CHT, phlebotomy certification, or healthcare experience
