Join Riverside Community Hospital as a Patient Care Technician in our Tele S3 Med Surg department and deliver high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated basic patient care services under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN)
• Assist the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT’s skills/training and the needs of the department
• Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment
• Promote consistent, positive patient interactions that advance unparalleled patient service
• Demonstrate caring and empathy in all interactions and advocate for a patient- and family-centered approach in all decisions and actions
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including active listening; ensure patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications
• Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
• Participate as an active member of the healthcare team and positively promote the rest of the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Demonstrated or tested ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology
• 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• CNA license as mandated by state of practice
