About the role
Assists and supports Registered Nurses in direct and indirect patient care activities within an orthopedic unit.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient admission, transfer, and discharge
- Monitors vital signs
- Obtains EKG, blood glucose, and specimens
- Applies monitoring and respiratory equipment
- Provides personal care, feeds, and comfort measures
- Assists with mobility, pre/post-operative care, and emergency responses
- Maintains a safe, clean environment and stocks supplies
- Supports unit operations
- Documents patient observations
- Participates in quality improvement
- Ensures room readiness
Qualifications
- CNA certification or enrolled in Nursing school with clinical rotations
- CPR validation
- High school diploma
- Preferred experience in healthcare
- Knowledge of patient care techniques
- Additional education such as an associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred
