About the role
Piedmont Athens is seeking an energetic medical-surgical nurse to join our dynamic team on Med A, a fast-paced 30-bed unit. Our staff coordinates health care plans with the entire medical team to provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients with a variety of illnesses and comorbidities, including overflow from specialty care units such as Surgery, Pulmonary, Neuroscience, Oncology, and Orthopedics. Support staff includes an IV team, home med nurse, and lift team.

Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients from birth through the lifecycle under the supervision of licensed clinical staff.
- Demonstrate competency with treatments, procedures, and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy.
Patient ratios are determined by volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may require lower or higher ratios.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) (preferred).
- No prior work experience required; 1 year of patient care experience preferred.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred.
- Certification from a Patient Care Technician program preferred.
