Patient Care Tech MedSurg Nights 7pm-7am

About the role

This position assists nurses and physicians in delivering patient care through coordination with other departments. It is a multi-skilled role serving as an integral member of the primary patient care team.

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care based on individual needs within the scope of practice, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Duties include taking vital signs, phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, and ECG under the direction of the RN.
• Performs technical and medical procedures not governed by licensure.
• Maintains an organized working system in the emergency department through accurate documentation, orderly filing, and ensuring appropriate departments receive required paperwork.
• Effectively moves patients, supplies, and equipment in a safe and timely manner as directed.
• Consistently provides quality patient care and proactively offers excellent service to patients, their families, and friends.
• Communicates effectively with other healthcare workers, physicians, patients, and their families/friends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Education requirement can be either EMT or CNA.
• CNA Certification or EMT/Paramedic license.
• CPR certification is required.
