Patient Care Tech I - Med Surg

About the role

The primary function of the PCT is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills both to and from the patient and family, and to and from the rest of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and families with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and ensuring care completeness.
• Work as an essential part of the patient care team.
• Spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, requiring compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Engage people at the appropriate level for their wellness and cognition.
• Problem solve and anticipate customer needs.

Requirements

• 12 college level credit hours including a passing grade in English Composition with a C or higher and an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater. Transcripts will be verified upon application.
• Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Service industry experience preferred but not required.

Pay

This job will be authorized 48.00 hours bi-weekly.

Schedule

Day shift: 6:30am - 7:00am
