About the Role

The primary function of the Patient Care Technician (PCT) is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends the most time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary, along with strong communication skills both with the patient and family and the rest of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care and monitoring.
  • Assist with patient hygiene and ensure care is complete.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Engage with patients at an appropriate level for their wellness and cognition.
  • Problem-solve and proactively anticipate customer needs.
  • Collaborate consistently with the healthcare team.

Requirements

  • 12 college-level credit hours, including a passing grade (C or higher) in English Composition and an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater (transcripts will be verified upon application).
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Service industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.

Schedule

Day shift: 06:30 AM – 07:00 PM.

This position is authorized for 72.00 hours bi-weekly.
