Patient Care Tech

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the delivery of excellent patient care within the department.
• Perform a variety of functions including measurement of vital signs, specimen collection, dressing application/removal, diagnostic testing, assisting providers, and administering limited vaccinations and medications.
• Collaborate with allied healthcare professionals as a member of the treatment team to provide exemplary customer service.
• Perform clerical duties such as chart assembly, data entry, patient contact, record conversion, appointment scheduling, follow-up care communication, and database maintenance.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted Rhode Island licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Assistant, or related professional discipline.
• Certification or evidence of training and experience with venous/capillary blood sampling (phlebotomy) and 12-lead EKG performance.
• Minimum six (6) months experience in an outpatient or out-of-hospital clinical setting preferred; or an equivalent amount of experience in a comparable role within a similar environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of theory, techniques, and practices of employee/occupational health preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.
• The ability to utilize computer equipment and various software is required, including experience with Microsoft Office productivity software.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology is required.
