Patient Care Sitter

Responsibilities

• Administers quality patient care according to established standards.
• Follows direction of RN/LPN or physician.
• May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients.
• Provides exceptional service to all patients and customers.
• Provides continuous observation of the patient.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for the patient.
• Observes safety and infection control standards.
• Observes and reports any changes in the patient’s physical, emotional, and mental conditions.
• Provides the patient with a sense of security and protects the patient from injury.
• Receives report about the patient regarding the plan of care for dealing with the patient’s activities.

Qualifications

• All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable.
• A High School Diploma or GED or HiSET equivalent required.
• Non-violent patient intervention must be obtained during initial training period.
• Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire required.
• 1 year satisfactory work experience in healthcare required.
